A father is mauled to death by a large shark off the coast of Tasmania, while out diving with his daughter.
A daughter watched her father being killed by a large shark while the pair were diving off the Australian island state of Tasmania.
The woman witnessed the attack after diving beneath the surface amid concerns her father, in his 40s, had not surfaced, police said.
The pair had been diving for scallops, with a boat, near Maria Island, off the east coast of Tasmania.
Inspector David Wiss said: “His daughter became worried and went down and checked on her father.
“She saw a very large shark; she saw her father being attacked by the shark.”
The attack happened near where a 15ft great white shark was seen on Friday, government ranger Peter Lingard told The Examiner newspaper.
