A reporter and a cameraman have been killed after a gunman opened fire during a live TV broadcast in the US state of Virginia
Reporter Alison Parker, 24, and cameraman Adam Ward, 27, who worked for US TV network WDBJ7, were interviewing a guest at a shopping centre in Moneta when they were shot on Wednesday morning.
The gunman, Vester Lee Flanagan II, also known as Bryce Williams, was said to be a disgruntled former colleague of the victims. He was caught by police but died in hospital after shooting himself.
The suspect in the Virginia double shooting has been pronounced dead in hospital, state police have told the Washington Post.
Vester Lee Flanagan, also known as Bryce Williams,was pulled from a crashed car with a gunshot wound after being pursued by Virginia State Police earlier today.
Officials had said he was in a “critical condition”.
